Extended Day Child Care at Bayshore P.S.

NEW - There will be an Information Meeting about Extended Day Child Care on Monday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m.  in the school Library. At this time, Eleanor heap, the Manager of Extended Day will be present to answer your questions.

Bayshore P.S has been running Full Day Kindergarten classes for two year. Part of the program, as outlined by the Ministry of Education, is that schools must also offer an Extended Day Program. The Extended Day Program provides parents of students in kindergarten to age twelve with access to before and after school child care in Full Day Kindergarten locations. The programs are led by registered Early Childhood Educators who deliver the Ministry of Education’s Extended Day Program curriculum which includes recreational and social opportunities for children.  Students will also have the opportunity to work on homework if need be and to participate in a variety of group and individual activities.

The City of Ottawa has offered Child Care for the community for many years. Beginning in September 2012, Bayshore P.S will be running its own Extended Day Child Care Program. The City of Ottawa will no longer provide Child care at the school.

The cost for both before school and after school care is $20 per day per child. If parents choose to have their children attend only one of the care sessions the costs is $7.00 for the morning and $13.00 for the afternoon fro each child.

If you are interested in extended day child care the deadline for registration is Friday, May 18. (Please note that the registration forms states that the due date is Friday, April 27th – this is incorrect). Registration will be done by the schools and a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required with the registration form. Actual registration numbers will determine if the program is offered.
